Aclaria unveils new brand and expands legal AI implementation secondments

Aclaria has unveiled its new brand and expanded its legal secondments offering to support legal AI implementation. The Melbourne-founded business provides Australian in-house legal teams with legal, technology and operations specialists who work alongside their people to identify AI use cases, redesign workflows and support implementation, governance, training and adoption.

Specialist secondments for legal AI implementation

The expanded offering places specialists inside legal teams to help turn AI plans into practical changes. Support can include:

Legal AI implementation means putting AI tools into everyday legal work, with suitable processes, oversight and training. Choosing software is one step; making it useful within the team requires practical support. [1]

“After more than 500 conversations with Australian General Counsel and Heads of Legal, one message kept coming through: legal teams need more than advice about what AI might do. They need people who can help make it work,” said Aclaria Chief Executive Richard Kohinga.

Why in-house legal teams need practical AI support

CLOC’s 2026 State of the Industry Report found that 85% of surveyed legal departments had dedicated AI oversight or resources, while 80% identified technology strategy as a key legal operations focus. The findings draw on 135 law departments and provide international context, rather than an Australian adoption estimate. [2] CLOC

In Australia, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner recommends assessing whether an AI product suits its intended use, considering privacy and security risks, and embedding human oversight. [3] OAIC These considerations help explain why implementing AI involves people, processes and governance as well as technology.

“AI adoption is moving quickly, but the work of making it useful is practical,” Mr Kohinga said. “Teams need to identify the right use cases, fit tools into real workflows, train people and manage risk. Our model gives them access to specialists who can work alongside their team and help deliver that change.”

Legal secondments remain central to Aclaria

Aclaria continues to provide seconded lawyers across commercial, corporate, construction, litigation, employment, privacy, technology and compliance work. Legal AI, technology and legal operations specialists add to that existing capability. [4]

The new brand reflects a broader focus on intelligent resourcing for in-house legal teams: access to people who understand legal work, commercial priorities and the practical demands of implementing change. For organisations seeking extra-legal capacity, lawyer secondments remain available alongside the expanded AI implementation support.
